Deutsch Langhaar Colors |
There are 8
colors in which Deutsch
Langhaars can be registered.
They are as follows:
•
Braun (brown)
•
Braun/Weisser Brustfleck
(brown with white
chest patch)
•
Hellschimmel (light roan)
•
Braunschimmel (brown
roan)
•
Dunkelschimmel (dark
roan)
•
Braun-weiss (brown on
white)
•
Weiss-Braun (white on
brown)
•
Forellenschimmel (all
ticking w/ no patches)
DLs that are solid brown will
only produce braun or
braun/weisser Brustfleck
offspring regardless of what
color of DL they are bred to.
When two braun/weisser
brustfleck DLs are bred
together, the resulting
offspring will be a mix of
braun, braun/weisser brustfleck,
and schimmel.
When
a braun/weisser brustfleck DLs
is bred with a schimmel DL, the
resulting offspring will be a
mix of braun, braun/weisser
brustfleck, and schimmel.
When two schimmel DLs
are bred together, the resulting
offspring will all be various
shades of schimmel. |
